Abstract
The study investigated Artificial intelligence (AI) problems on curriculum implementation insecondary school chemistry education in Ilorin South local government area, Kwara State. The study is a descriptive survey type, data was collected from a sample of 438 secondary school chemistry students in Ilorin South local government area, Kwara State, Nigeria. Data collected were analysed using percentage, bar chart, chi-square and t-test. The findings reveal that both public and private secondary school students utilise AI in various test methods, with a predominant focus on homework tests. Despite its potential benefits, the study identifies significant problems associated with AI integration, including concerns about academic integrity and over-reliance on technology. It is recommended among others that AI is most frequently used for homework tests among students, educators should develop robust guidelines and monitoring mechanisms for AI usage in homework. This includes creating assignments that require critical thinking and personal input, reducing the potential for students to overly rely on AI-generated responses.
