Abstract
This paper critically examines the evolution and contemporary dynamics of political analysis, tracing its development from philosophical, historical, institutional and legal approaches to modern empirical and interdisciplinary frameworks. It explores how the dissatisfaction with descriptive and normative methods in early political science led to the behavioural revolution, which emphasised scientific precision, value-neutrality and the systematic study of political behaviour. The subsequent post-behavioural movement reintroduced ethics, relevance and social responsibility, bridging scientific inquiry with societal needs. This work situates comparative politics as the foundation of modern political analysis, emphasizing its logic, scope, and challenges in the study of systems, institutions, and behaviour across diverse contexts. It highlights contemporary transformations driven by globalisation, data analytics, and neocolonial thoughts, showcasing how interdisciplinary perspectives from economics to sociology and postcolonial theory have expanded the frontiers of political inquiry. This research argues for a reflexive and inclusive political science that balances scientific rigour with ethical commitment and contextual understanding. It concludes by projecting future trajectories of political research toward greater interdisciplinary, methodological innovations and epistemic diversity in the quest for a more humane and globally relevant discipline.
